MAUREEN BRYCE – Davis Bay Treasures
Recently retired from the Vancouver School Board, this Davis Bay resident is thrilled to pursue her lifelong passion for art and, in particular, pottery. Working with this medium was discovered in high school which led to studies in sculpture and ceramics at Langara College many years ago. The past few years she has been taking classes at Amber Road Pottery, immersing herself in hand-building and mastering throwing on the wheel. Living on the beach in Davis Bay has inspired her to create whimsical, functional pieces with a sealife or wildlife theme. Most popular and favourite pieces include birdbaths and birdhouses, mushrooms, starfish and seahorses. All the glazes used meet Foodsafe standards and custom orders are welcome.
